Croatian United Nations Association organised an Indoor soccer tournament in order to promote International Day of Sport for Development and Peace. The event took place in Zagreb (Croatia) at Zagrebački Velesajam, Paviljon 1, Avenija Dubrovnik 15 on 5th April 2014 at 10:00 a.m. The tournament was opened by the teams of actors of the theater „Kerempuh“ and the team of journalists and staff of the Croatian National Television.
On 23 August 2013, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 6 April as the International Day of Sports and Physical Activity, to celebrate the contribution of sports and physical activity to education, human development, healthy lifestyles and a peaceful world. The 1st International Day of Sport for Development and Peace was celebrated this year.
